approaching the ripe old age of 31, fractured L5 vertabrae that healed/fused incorrectly......
i can ride well and through most pain, but sometimes the pain in the hips is the one that causes me to pull over, and if i cannot then its time to ride home quckly......when you have your helmet on no one can hear you scream.....

Am I the oldest one that is knackered on here 66 been unable to ride for nearly 3 weeks now. I cannot get my left foot on to the foot rest now even if I do manage it cannot change gear. I had x rays last Thursday and report back this Thursday for results. I have already been told I need a new knee but also been told to lose weight as, on my own admission I am a fat git. Hoping come Thursday she will give me a Cortizone injection. If she does that it will give me some temporay relief.
Arthritus is a bitch. Doctor has taken me off Norproxine as being on them to long can be bad for your heart. I did point out while on them I was still reasonably pain free and mobile. I would have thought being a fat bastard was just as bad for me heart?? cannot win , fecken doctors eh!!!!!

Scary reading this thread and I am probably the oldest! Did have a new hip last year which has proved to be a godsend, need surgery on arthritic shoulder but on a cocktail of meds which keeps it going for the time being, This a result of being knocked off the R1 in Scotland 2009 with an 8 day stay in Glasgow Southern General while they decided what to do.
[/size][/color]However I have two dogs, so do a lot of walking, which I am sure helps, as I too have dodgy knees due to other non bike related accidents but not looking forward to a time when not able to ride my bike, hoping that is still a long way off :\

Just been told today to stop riding my bike due to the lack of mobility in my left leg (knee) .If I do not agree to stop riding it until after I get a knee replacement I will have to surrender my licence.
Ah!! well it is to dammed hot here in Spain this time of year anyway. Time to see if I can do a few wee jobs on her.Drop the fork yokes a tad and rear suspension brackets to repaint etc!.
I thought I had found a way out when I went onto Pat's FZ page and located a foot rest lowering kit but sadly the company that made the kit has stopped trading or stopped miking the kits.
Maybe time to look for something with a bit more upright riding position. :'(

Sorry to hear that Lew, now over two weeks since I could bend my right knee enough to ride , awaiting results from yet more blood tests.
Old age is beginning to truly suck.
If its any consolation my father who is 85 this year had a new knee put in 7 years ago and hasn't had any bother with his knee since, everything else on his body is buggered but at least he has one good knee

Well give her a good wash down this afternoon , bit of a polish , looked longing at it. Said fuckit, something I never do. Banged me lid on , shorts and tee shirt and off I went. Hit the AP7 red lined it all the way for 20 mile or so. Yes the knee is fecked but what a rush.
Will hopefully get the job (knee ) done and take it from there.
It is midnight here and that was a few hours ago, fecking knee is a ballon.

Anyone had any dealings with this lot. gear looks good and they do the foot rest lowering kits, could be a life line.
