Oh i get it now this is YOUR fire. :lol
Yup, the thread title is misleading as Mr Nog forgot about the fire incident that I was referring to. This was 5 days after I had moved in to the property (18th October 2012)... And here is the aftermarth... Take an orbital sander, attach it to the bottom (outside) of a big plastic box so it agitates the box and contents. Fill box with coke, and some parts you want to clean. Pretend it's like a parts washer, and leave to brew... Did I get that about right, Mr Deadeye? :rollin Re: Deadeyes Crash..Plus his Spontaneous Fazer Combustion incident. - rustyrider - 28-01-14 So what caught fire? The orbital sander or the coke (I assume we are talking Coca Cola here and not any other sort of coke....)? I blame the use of Dr. Pop instead of Coca-Cola... this was surely the main reason for the failure! Me and my friends regret not using Dr. Pepper... can you imagine sending this in under their "what's the worst that could happen" slogan? :rollin :rollin :rollin The only thread about it that I can find, is this one - http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,5294.0.html I'm sure there was another somewhere :\ (28-01-14, 04:24 PM)rustyrider link Wrote: So what caught fire? The orbital sander or the coke (I assume we are talking Coca Cola here and not any other sort of coke....)? I have absolutely no idea... no investigation was undertaken (probably a good thing) It may well not have been my fault at all... but that scenario is rather unlikely, all things considered Re: Deadeyes Crash..Plus his Spontaneous Fazer Combustion incident. - richfzs - 28-01-14 I would hazard a guess, the sander overheated and torched itself (dunno if these things will have a thermal cutout, but if not, they're designed to be used in air and being moved through that air, so they'll get some cooling from that?). Then the box would have melted, dropping the liquid all over the burning electrics... Disclaimer : I'm just some idiot commenting on the Internet, i have no quals or experience in fire cause investigation :rollin Re: Deadeyes Crash..Plus his Spontaneous Fazer Combustion incident. - Dead Eye - 28-01-14 You are more than likely correct, or something along those lines at least But since there was no proof or factual evidence, I can still testify that it MAY not have been fault... I just accept that it PROBABLY was ![]() Re: Deadeyes Crash..Plus his Spontaneous Fazer Combustion incident. - His Dudeness - 28-01-14 It was a mad accident in fairness. 99 times out of 100 if you left a sander on too long nothing would happen nevermind the whole place catching fire. |
