The R8 is a Marmite car in my opinion. Some people absolutely love it (one of my best friends included) and others think its nothing special

I don't care about the r8. It was the stonking huge and powerful engine, glowing exhaust ports and flames that worked for me.

Ahh, back in the days of the insane rally car being driven at its limits and the drivers limits whilst also having to do simultaneous spectator avoidance. I cannot believe there were spectators who were only happy if they got to touch or get a limb broken by a car as it went by (according to the documentary I watched).
They were fun, dangerous and insane years.
