Re: Whats that Tune? - locksmith - 01-10-12

Had a look on Steve Wright show web site and they list songs played. Trawled over the last few weeks and still can't find it.  :2guns

Now that we found love, INSTRUMENTAL  :fish

Re: Whats that Tune? - locksmith - 01-10-12

About a month ago I heard it again on Steve Wright but missed the bit where he says what it was :hammer and since then it's been rattling round my head.
It's probably a seventies soul funk band and it wasn't a big hit or by a big band and it's the sort of tune that they would use as a background to talking over on the radio so probably not going to find it unless I email Steve Wright !!

You could ask for a soppy tune for the missus while your at it.

Re: Whats that Tune? - Farjo - 01-10-12

Another:
"TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia)" by MFSB

Re: Whats that Tune? - Hodge - 01-10-12

Was it Tequila by The Champs. A cracking instrumental.

What on Earth were they????

Re: Whats that Tune? - violetsdaddy - 02-10-12

And I agree that the track Steve Wrong used was probably "Pick up the Pieces" by AWB or something

Re: Whats that Tune? - rayburn600 - 02-10-12

violetsdaddy
What on Earth were they????
Instrumental with lots of trumpet, bongos and guitar.

Nearly there! :\

I am trying.  :'(

Re: Whats that Tune? - locksmith - 03-10-12

Definately not AWB.  Think Commodores/Earth Wind Fire/James Brown/Funkadelic. Really heavy on bongos and trumpets.

Been trawling the R2 website and found they list all the old shows with music played. After an hour or so it aint there  :'(

Guess I'll have to wait another 20 years before I hear it again.  :b

Re: Whats that Tune? - Pat - 03-10-12

Is it definitely just an instrumental?

I can think of some possibilities, but they've all got lyrics/singers in them too.

Re: Whats that Tune? - locksmith - 04-10-12

No not that either.
One good thing is all the funk I've been hearing, quiet forgotten how good it can be!

Re: Whats that Tune? - BBROWN1664 - 04-10-12

Philip Lynott - Yellow Pearl
