Cracked inner fairing on FZ1SA 2007 - anyone got one for sale?
Posted by: Streetbudgie - 08-05-20, 12:17 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hi Guys,
I've just discovered that the black plastic inner fairing on the right hand side of the fairing is cracked across the bit that has the mounting screw in.
It was probably overtightened by the garage that serviced it but it's too late to go back now.
Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can get one?
I tried Fleabay but they all seem to be in the US and the postage is horrendous.
I'll try to post a picture.

Box eye'd street fighter.
I just don't use the bike any more, the last time I rode it was to the MOT station last year.I was planning on riding it to Morocco and having an adventure, but Covid happened and it will just sit in the garden for another year.
So Time to sell it.I have had it a few years and just don't use it any more. The milage is low about 20-25000.Tyres are good, so are the brakes and the chain and sprockets are good.
It might need a tidy up and certainly a wash.A good run and it would be running even better with a fresh tank of fuel in it.
I'm asking £900. send me a message for pictures.
The bike is located near Worthing in Sussex.

Morning all!

I've joined as my wife has just bought her first big bike, a 2000 model Fazer 600. She passed her test in Malta 5 years ago and since then has been riding around on a CBR250R, but has outgrown it.

As I'll be the one looking after the Fazer, I thought I'd best join and learn from those that know all about them :-)

In the garage for me is a 2003 SV1000S and a 2000 R1150GS :-)

We live in Cyprus, but I'm British and the wife is American, although if asked, she often claims to be Canadian!!

Stay safe!

  Removing crash bungs
Posted by: Stinka - 07-05-20, 04:07 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Hi lads

I went to remove my crash bungs and took the left one off, put the bolts back thru the engine mount and realised I needed either shorter bolts or thick spacers/washers to get the nut to butt up against something, due to threads not going far enough up bolts

Can anyone spec me new bolts to order or spacers ?

Just need length and width

Cheers

I’d have measured them but silly me lost my tape measure  :rolleyes

  Forks Leaking
Posted by: old son - 06-05-20, 05:26 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (10)

I noticed today that one of the forks on my 05 Gen1 is leaking from the seal at the top of the leg. The bike has covered £32k miles. It would make sense to me to change the seals on both legs. Obviously change the oil. Is there anything else I need to change/check at the same time?

Where is the best place to buy the new parts?
What is the best grade oil to buy and how much do I need?

Thanks

Gen 2 FZ1/S Wilbers shock lowering ~45mm ish
Posted by: pilninggas - 05-05-20, 08:24 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Having a lockdown tidy up. Found this shock i had on my 2011 Fazer.

Bit of crust on the cylinder tube, but nothing nasty and no rot on the chrome damper rod.

A 640 model which is 20mm shorter (300mm) to give 45mm of lowering. Was fully functional when last used, if i thought it wasnt any good i would have chucked it rather than bagging it and putting on the shelf.

Might fit the FZ8, buyer beware.

£60 inc p+p?

Andreani Suspension Cartridge Kit for FZS600 £145 SOLD
Posted by: nedworthy - 05-05-20, 12:17 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (5)

I've a Andreani Cartridge Kit for front suspension - according to Andreani it should fit all 98-03 FZS 600 models. It's brand new, old stock, non original box. I have the fitting instructions on a PDF to email. It is not the current Andreani kit but is 'similar' to their model: 105/Y08. It has Andreani standard linear springs. if you need stronger springs then there are several suppliers/options for changing.
