Best Sporty Tyre?
« on: 21 September 2013, 01:15:42 am »
What sporty tyres are there out there that come in the 110/70 and 160/60 sizes on the FZS 600?

I quite like the idea of putting some nice and properly grippy on for the rest of summer, get a few decent days in and then swap back to the current ones on there as they're okay normally but trying to push the bike isn't exactly giving me a lot of confidence at the moment!

Kinda fancied the idea of something along the lines of Michelin Pilot Power 3, the next step up from the Pilot Road 3s?

Pilot power 3's don't come in 110/70, in fact very few 'sporty' tyres come in this size anymore, most manufacturers seem to have abandoned developing that size in sporty rubber.
That being said I only recently finished off the new Bridgestone S20 110/70, I took it on a trackday and it lasted a total of just under 10,000 miles.
The S20 is yet another step in tyre grip and situates itself Inbetween a full on sports tyre and a sports touring tyre.
I really liked the feel From the front, very grippy and was lovely at absorbing bumps, if mileage isn't an issue for you I highly recommend it, currently on the back I have the T30 which although its not supposed to be as grippy as the S20 I've not had any issues whatsoever!
