Good twenty quid mod..
« on: 17 September 2013, 04:23:46 pm »
Previous owners of both my gen one fazer and cb1300 did that thing where they had loads of keys on their ignition key ring so they rattle about and bash up the finish on the top yoke.annoys the absolute fuck out of me, especially as your looking at it every time your on the bike.never did sort the fazer, but the cb1300 is mint apart from the top yoke, so looked on e bay and there's a feller doing polished stainless covers for twenty notes. Absolute bargain and it really looks so much better. I know it's not me old fazer but the principles there....

I have never put all my keys together.

Bike and tank key stay with my jacket - on the bike I keep the tank key around my neck and only the ignition on the bike, house key in my pocket - saved myself £20 easy  :)

Can't understand why people want to carry keys around that they use once in a blue moon, much easier to have a spot at home where you know where they are if you need them.

I have a house key (yale type), bike key and alarm fob on mine.  I always put the key in so that the fob is on the bottom.  To be honest I don't really care about the condition of the yoke though ( :eek ) as I came to the conclusion long ago that looking after things takes more effort than it does to enjoy it and do neccessary maintenance.  You could spend half your life washing bugs, oil and stuff off your bike to go out the next day and replace them.  I never look at the yoke either, always the country side, the lights, the road.

Now if I had a ferrari or Ducati that was worth a lot ..... then I'd pay someone else to do it  :lol

What's the old yoke about stoking the fire ?

I find it quite satisfying on days like this to sit in the garage and clean the bike, radio on and a few beers. Beats sitting in watching the shit they keep putting on TV.

Cleaning I consider as part of the overall maintenance, helps you to spot problems before they develop into something dangerous or just expensive.  ;)
However, Doddsie, if you clean yours any more it'll be foccin transparent!  :lol

My wife agrees completely......  Yet I've never seen her wash her car  :evil

A bike or car is a tool for me.   It's how I feel when I'm on/in it, rather than when I look at it.  I appreciate engineering but not the form I guess.

I feel guilty now.   I'm sure some Yamaha designer who put his all in to designing the Fazer is turning in his bed.
