Introduction time :)
« on: 29 August 2013, 12:54:19 am »
Hi All
What to say hmm??
Well I'd like to class myself as a born again biker, but don't think 125's (tho one was an RD twin :) ) and a 400 dream qualify.
I've Just bought a 2003 fazer for my 45th birthday prezzie to myself.  I live in NW Kent and will probably use the bike to commute into London as well as  hopefully meet members local who are willing to let a noob tag along for social rides, lemonades and advise ;)

I just read a post titled silly questions where tyre pressure were mentioned for the more burly 90kg rider.

NINETY KILOGRAMS BURLY!!!  My knees  can only dream :rollin

So  should the tyre pressures increase with weight and is there a point where they become too hard for safe riding?

Women have chocolate men have bikes.....
including ones who like chocolate....;)

Welcome buddy, hope you enjoy the site.

The lofo's (london Foccers) regularly meet up for ride outs, they are some of the most active members across the lands.im sure they wouldnt mind some extra participants.check out their thread in the meets & greets section.

Ref the tyre pressures, theres a universal 36 front, 42 back that i always stick to, im just over 100kg & never had any problem either bimbling along or towards the edge of the tyres.

The fact that you seem to check your pressures is imo far more important than faffing with a few psi here & there & you havent mentioned taking a heavy pillion or anything.

Try 36/42, do some trial & error with the fork & spring adjustments & find out what makes you feel most confident.

Take it easy

Welcome to the forum  8)

Chris

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
