Possible sale: FZS1000 parts

••• Updates •••
19/8/13: The first post on this thread will be updated with the latest information!

21/8/13: Bike is now sitting at my home address. More detailed pics and information available on request.

03/9/13: Deadline for 3rd party response.

25/2/14:  :eek This has been dragging on too long, so I'm going to do some prodding and see if I can get an answer about the bike.

27/2/14: So I spoke to my solicitors about the whole situation, and once an engineer has assessed the bike for 1) pre accident value and 2) repair cost, that can be sent off to the third party insurers. Once they agree on the figures, my solicitors will send written confirmation, which will free the bike up. At no time will the bike be laid claim by any other party, it's just being held for evidence of cost purposes. So I will be selling parts from it, it's just a matter of time.

I'm hoping that I can get an assessment done by next week, then it's waiting on letters back and forth a couple of times. All being well, the earliest I'll be stripping the bike will be 2 weeks time. The liability has been put forward hence things starting to move along, but I'll go into that in another thread.

••• ^updates^ •••

As soon as I hear about the claim against a third party I'm waiting on, I may be getting my old Fazer back and breaking it to sell for spares. So I'm posting this here to give you guys first choice on any parts that come out of it. I'm still waiting for it to be delivered to my home address from the recovery company, at which time I'll be able to give a more detailed write up of parts available or parts damaged.

What I'll do is write a list here of parts that are damaged or sold/reserved, so if the part you want is not on this list chances are it's available.

Smaller parts can be posted as long as the cost of this is covered, but larger parts will need to be collected or shipped.

PLEASE BE AWARE; I cannot sell any parts of this bike or change it in any way UNTIL liability and insurance is confirmed. They may want to write it off, in which case I may be offered buy back. In fact, this is what I'm hoping for, so I can recoup some costs.

Feel free to pm me with any questions or queries.

Even though the headers are damaged pull the exup valve and bushes (plus all associated parts) as people are always looking for them, same with EXUP cables if the are in good nick.

I'll have to check the rad when the bike gets hereJust checked the photo and it looks like the rad has been dented in at the bottom by the front wheel. Should be very soon now. I've put my location up on the member map, I'm near newton abbot in the south west.

Good point about the exup parts though, will bear that in mind.

Here you go..

As you can see, it's dented in where the front wheel was squashed into it. There are more pics here showing more of the damage.

Hi, firstly apologies for the huge delay on any updates to this thread. I'd have liked to have stripped the bike down and sold all the parts ages ago, but the whole insurance claim has been dragging on. I still plan on doing this, but as Devilsyam pointed out I have to make sure I'm allowed to do this before doing anything. I'll need written confirmation.

This has all been further delayed by moving into a new flat. I've had a few things to deal with, and the old bike has been pushed to the end of my to do list.

So; I'll be contacting the relevant persons about getting this written confirmation and by the end of the week I will hopefully know if I can strip and sell the bike any time soon. If I am able to, I'll update the first post in this topic and start taking requests for parts.
