collared for no seat belt, advice needed
« on: 15 August 2013, 12:05:02 pm »
my lad pulled out of somewhere without his belt on and got nabbed.......fair do's
the cop issued a ticket and a driver awareness letter arrived yesterday saying he could do a 1/2 hour on line course for £36

anyone done it?
is it worth doing or would the insurance not be arsed like they are with SP 30's etc, it may save him money or it may cost him money if he don't do it?
BTW, he's sold his car and can't see him getting another one for now but he has been driving the Co. van
advice  please peeps

The fine is £60, so for half an hour on line I'd do the awareness course. It wasn't available when I got caught, was a lower fine too £30 I think.

Sounds like Mr plod wasn't being too harsh so better do the course and then remember and use the seatbelt  ;)

Last time I got done for no seat belt (OK the only time) there were no points involved just the fine.

Do the awareness course! The new fines are active now, and if you pay it'll cost £100.
If you go to court, it'll cost even more than that.
Then tell him to wear his friggin seatbelt!

Sounds like he could use the information the course will contain!
