Slight Backfire
« on: 16 July 2013, 11:48:25 am »
Since I carried out a service on the bike, it seems to me that I can hear a slight backfire when letting off the throttle. It also sounds louder since then, more gargly. I'm not sure whether it's me being paranoid or what.

On the service I changed coolant, plugs, and put a nice shiny K&N air filter on it. I have yet to do oil & filter.

Does this sound possible, or am I making things up? Maybe the service and me noticing these was a coincidence? Any help?

It will be the K&N you put in

Allows the bike to breathe a bit easier and is probably causing it but its nothing to worry about, mine crackles and pops quite a lot on overrun - even my car does it a little as well

Ok, I mean, I haven't noticed a lack (or a boost) in performance. So you reckon it's normal and to sit back and enjoy the new deeper voice I have given it?

I've a K&N filter on mine and I get the same crackle when coming off the throttle, don't think it's anything to worry about though!
