Clutch knocking
« on: 04 July 2013, 08:12:04 am »
Hi all , looking for some advise, recently noticed when bike is cold and clutch isnt engaged , there is a slight knocking coming from clutch . When engaged its fine . This passes once warmed up and doesnt effect clutch in any other way , bite points fine / no clutch slip in any gear.
Mines a gen 1 1998 600 .

Some bikes get this noise when leaned on side stand - usually it's nothing to worry about. Does it still do it when the bike is upright?

Knocking noise from the clutch is fairly common, I wouldn't worry about it.

In fact, mine does it too and I don't worry about it  :)

I found balancing the carbs helps to stop the clutch rattling at idle.
