MTC Gp Pro stubby exhaust can & link pipe - mini review
« on: 29 June 2013, 01:25:48 pm »
This arrived at work on Friday, so as it was only 3 bolts I did the honours in the basement car park.

Dosen't look half bad, sounds great on open throttle, however it does make a weird paff paff sound at idle which I'm guessing is down to the low cost baffle and the center stand bump stop spigot dosen't quite line up.

I am going to get them to make me up a stubby link pipe and small bracket AKA Devilsyam's EPE can and pipe.

Is there a hole in the outlet for a dB killer?  If so, cover it with your finger and see if the phaff-phaff noise disappears. :)

I have the DBk in, the pipe is insane with it out, the allen bolt that holds it in sticks up by 10mm though - would this cause the piff paff/phiff phaff noise..?

I have emailed MTC to see if they are willing to fabricate a better version, as the one that came with is just two bits of extruded pipe spot welded together. Also it dosent sit perpendicular to the rest of the can, I asked them if that would cause said noise.

Really nice looking can. I went for the delkevic 70mm and also found the centre stand stop didn't quite line up either :\ . I had an akrapovic which made that noise when the db killer was removed.. I ended up putting a smoll blob of silicone sealant over the hole, as the piff/paff noise really annoyed me!
