They are daring to be a little bit different and I think that is a really good thing. Lets be honest, we don't really need yet another I4 UJM, no matter how good it would probably be.
I love the idea of Yamaha doing a high tech modern triple, if you have ever ridden a twin or triple, then you know just how much fun all that torque can be. If you take this version as the naked base model, then by justing adding some fairings, you get a friendly commuter, change the subframe and you can produce a full touring model. I suspect this might be the start of a whole new product line.
