after market exhaust FZ6 help

Hi all just got a 07 fz6 and looking at fitting some  after market exhaust but i have some questions

I have a mate who said if i fit an after market exhaust to the bike then the bike is not going to run right ?

he said i would need to get a power commander for the bike to run right because the ecu is set up for the oem exhaust

and not the  after market exhaust  can some one help me please

  I am also presuming that if I do change the exhaust, etc. it will need tuned to cope with the changes, is this true ???

You after an end can or full system?

An aftermarket exhaust can cause a bike to run leaner (and hotter), so I'd tend to agree with your mate that the bike will need set up for it.

Surely you could just get a different map for the ECU? I don't know much about injectors though, so I'll be interested to see where this thread goes.

Im also interested in this one as i thought that ecu's and fuel injection systems were clever enough to compensate for any changes.
 
i mean how come the bike can adjust itself to run in a cold climate like scotland and also a hot country like spain without needing a power commander?

I fitted scorpion cans about three years ago, and the bike runs like a dream.  I was advised at the time that they fit straight on the bike with no remapping required or tuning.  Hope this helps.

I found the anser to the question thanksman .and I found  it was on another site for fz6 aswell so will fit them today as long as it stays dry
