Best chain and sprocket set?

Hi all, I have a 2003 Fazer 600. Last year I bought a Tsubaki chain and a set of sprockets from a brand I can't remember. I've done about 8000-9000 miles since then, and the chain is fine, but the sprockets are really worn, so I need to replace both.
I'm not interested in adding/removing teeth or anything like that, but I'd just like to know what are the best combinations of chain and sprocket so that they both last and wear evenly.

I had one of these on my old Suzuki DR400, and the abuse it took was mental. Definitely would recommend these chain and sprockets also.

I always favoured DID chains (X-ring on the thou) and Renthal sprockets (available from B&C Express).

Best combo I've ever had on all bikes:

A decent x ring chain (D.I.D are good, as are Tsubaki - probably more but they're the two I've had)
O.E front sprocket (hardened steel so last as long as anything else out there, and usually have a rubber mount to make for quieter riding)
Supersprox rear sprocket - aluminium sprocket with hardened steel teeth, light weight, long lasting, and look the dogs bollocks.
Job done!

I'd say don't fall for the d.i.d 'extreme super duper triple x strength chain' (ZVM-X) it lasted no longer than their cheaper yet strong VX chain in my experience!

Originals I like. Well I always buy the original front sprocket due to it having a noise reducing rubber washer built onto it. Aftermarket front sprockets don't come with that..

I always buy genuine chain and sprockets, full set is around £160, the front sprocket is pricey on its own though, £90 last time I checked.

The front sprocket nut issue we have- has it been experienced with genuine front sprockets or only with aftermarket ones?

Personally I've only used pattern for which I did encounter the problem on my Boxeye!

I just prefer genuine over aftermarket.

If your sprockets are seriousley work after such little milage, there is a problem mate. I would take a look at that first... I have done twice that milage on the renthal set up the bike came with and they are perfect. I check wheel alignment every time I adjust the chain though, maybe start there.

I've just bought an OEM chain and sprocket kit,brand new and unopened,for £75.They appear, albeit very occasional, on ebay. Only the second one I've seen on there at that price in 2 years but it does happen.

That's a bargin Dave, I think I paid £130 for mine. I remember the other ones you're on about coming up on ebay just after I bought mine.

I've had my eye out ever since and on the off chance had a look a couple of weeks ago and there it was to good an opportunity to pass up.My bike still has the original chain and sprockets on and they are still good at 17k. So the new set will sit until such time as it is needed.Nice to have it in reserve.
