Has anyone gutted the cat on the gen2?
Of so what was the end result? Any improvements? and if so, where in the rev range?
Ta.

Yes , i did mine, just to compliment the other mods, Blue flame can,Kand N and airbox mod. I guess the difference is not noticable but if you were designing a high flow system you sure would not put that restrictive cat in there , would you????

I did it on my tiger 1050 when I tuned it up, and it made a little difference, bit that was a triple and you wouldn't know if you lost any power anywhere!
My only concern is that the decat and airbox mods are the only irreversible mods you can do, and should I not like the result (such as loss of the precious bottom end torque) then its too late.
Ill test the bike out with the trimmed flies now its dry outside and a couple of custom maps I've got stored, and take it from there.

If you are worried about bottom end then fit a 16 tooth front, awesome throttle response, and easier roll on top gear overtakes.

emissions are not checked on motorcycles in an mot,it may come into force in the future but it will only affect bikes that are being sold at the time.

If it was introduced into the mot test, would they not back date it?
I mean, they know for a particular year that the manufacturer attained a required emission requirement for it's engines, so said bike should still meet the same levels today?
