Front Hel Brake - 2 Line Kit Fitting
« on: 10 June 2013, 07:41:54 pm »
Bought a set and put them on at the weekend along with another few things.
I've got them set up and bled the brakes etc.

I just don't think they sit properly, not sure if I'm making mountains out of mole hills or not :lol

Let me know what you think?
How are your lines routed?

I forgot to take a picture looking down at the bars so ill get one up shortly.

Pretty sure they should be routed around the rear of the forks and attached to the mountings on the forks.

I did have them set up running down the back of the forks but the lines felt very stiff trying to get the banjos lined up with the caliper.  Its not the standard set up on the fazer so I don't think I can use the brackets.

As others have mentioned, the lines should be behind the forks and they will fit in to the mountings for the existing hoses as this is how I have my HEL lines setup. They will be stiffer than stock lines but you should have plenty of room and space to get them routed :)

Should be able to just whip the calipers off without having to remove the lines as well

How are the lines set up at your master cylinder ?
Ie closest one to the left furthest away to the right
Do your lines both kink away for the m/c at the banjo?

Hang on... Blue foxeye fazer, dark tint double bubble screen, clear indicator lenses, blue rad pipes... Is that my bike?? haha!

Looking good Andy, as the others have said usually the brake lines are routed the other way around.

I just fitted the same to mine tonight, behind the forks and used the original clamps no problem. Bugger to bleed though, now got the lever tied back and re bleed tomorrow

Looks good mate, as deadeye said you shouldn't need to disconnect the brake hoses, just take the caliper mounting bolts out and pass the caliper between the forks with the brake hoses still connected then put the calipers back on  ;)

I honestly can't remember - I'll check it out for you in the morning, too cold outside at the moment and I'm a creature of warmth ^^  :lol
