Insurance companies
« on: 03 June 2013, 11:28:56 am »
Like a good boy i rang up my insurer today to tell them my Recent mods to my bike - only to be told I was not insured and would have to take out a new policy  - I hung up in a huff!

A couple of hours latter I had cooled down and rang back to sort it out - this time a different person dealt with me who told me it was ok on my policy and there was no need to change at all - so I decided to own up to a couple more mods - happy now!

My point is if you get a bad deal its worth ringing back again as you may just had a shit head dealing with you the first time !!!!!!

I find the best bet with these morons is not to say , "I have done these mods", but to say "how will it affect my policy if ...."
When they say that there will be no difference or words to that affect you can say you have done the mods without them binning your policy. Don't call them back as a different muppet may answer the call.

Or say "I'll be doing these mods tonight then so can you change the policy now in preparation" so you don't come across as a bell tower.

I did an insurance quote with one of the compare sites, didn't pick the cheapest quote as I had never of the company, when documents came through the post the mods that I had added to the original quote were not on the new policy, I phoned them up and the very nice girl on the phoned said "no charge" and they would add a note of the mods on the computer. Full marks to Hastings Direct.
If you worried about falling off your bike, you'd never get on.
