After how many miles? Or how long on the bike is probably the better question?

Do you move about in the seat much, and do you take breaks?

My experience has been that taking regular brakes I key, eventid short.

Works best if you take them BEFORE you need them, if you wait till you starting to feel sore them its too late, prevention rather than cure

My bro tried gel seat add on put didn't save it

I've seen inflatable seat cushions interesting but expensive

My record with regular breaks on standard seat is Luxembourg to Derby in one go, somewhere between 500 600 miles so I do rate it compared to others I've been on

Also consider cycling shorts

Sorry got cut-off by my phone again it can't handle the foc-ing smiley face animations above.

What i was saying is that you can get some really good padded cycling shorts which might be worth trying, helped for one in our group.

There i got out of the bath to type that now I'm going back in.

I have the same problem after an hour!!
I bought one of these.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORBIKE-COMFORT-SEAT-PAD-NOT-GEL-NOT-AIRHAWK-BMW-Honda-Kawasaki-KTM-All-bikes-/350789536479?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item51acaf8adf

Cheaper than an air hawk, it works i can ride for 2 hours now.
Hope it helps.

I've found that it really does depend on the bike

My first Fazer was an absolutely nightmare, after 70-80 miles it was painful. Doing Bristol to Hertfordshire once, I ended up stopping at every single set of Services along the M4 and M25 and I still hurt :(

My current one however is a completely different story. I can do 200~ miles in one sitting with no huge amounts of discomfort, much past that and I need to take a break. There was a thread which had a fair few suggestions in the FZS600 forum not too long ago, a quick search should bring it up :)

I bought one of these http://www.ppseat.co.uk/gallery.asp?page=2&galleryid=5, for the same reason. I am going a euro tour in September and wanted all day, country to country comfort. I read up a bit on my options and decided on this. I'm sure those cusions work, but to me the look terrible and scabby. If thats not an issue then most world bike travelers use a sheep skin rug over the seat! Faining that, go Viper, thet look great and work.

Out of interest how much was the seat you got from them? they look pretty good. Did quite a few miles today and was getting pretty uncomfortable by the end of it.

After much "interneting", I found a brand new one for £150 + delivery. I called them and managed to get it for £140 with free delivery. I think they are around £300 though, and worth it to be honest.
