Cost to fit 2 tyres???

Just checking whats generally speaking a decent price to fit front& back tyres please???


Ive found the site below which gives a good spread of prices for a variety of tyres but if i go to some local fitters they'll no doubt give me the price including fitting so would be good to spot whether they're being a bit cheeky.

Wow that seems a good deal mate, well purely in basis my link those tyres retail about 230 for the pair so you got fitting cheap.


Unfortunately im in the sticks so not much competition.

fwr for me too.....take loose wheels in and 9 times out of 10 they can fit while i wait ,good prices too 
 
 
ive paid £30 fitting for a pair at local tyre centre...with loose wheels and me supplying the tyres

Well since im a dry weather leisure lizard & only doing 3k a year they sound just the ticket.


Old man has them on his fz6 & he thinks their ace,proper chewed to bits though with being so soft.

Seeing as we have so much shite weather that would really bother me if they're not much good in the wet!
It's bad enough having every car driver out to get you, let alone having to worry about slipping as well.
The highest rated all round tyres i've seen so far seem to be the Bridgestone BT023's from having a good look around reviewers websites.

Well if you are a dry weather rider then it makes no real difference ultimately

I do like the BT023's, I have a pair on at the moment and to my surprised I'm actually using pretty much all of the tyre bar 2 or 3 mm right on the edge - I've never felt them slip but I do try to be at least a bit sensible with my riding ^^

I go to Burwins Essex road N1 fitting and balance included in price, I've turned up with loose before and they charged £15, as for tyres my preference is Michelin road pilot 3 rear- I got 16000 on 'cat and srad 750 rears, just over 20000 on the fronts, but I'm not too keen on the feel from the front so have been using the pilot power 2 which was just awesome, I bought a PR3 but didn't have much chance to push it before selling the bike, although none of that helps cause they don't come in our front size!

Well ive been quoted just under the 200 squid for the diablo rosso 2's & although i agree that bt023 is probably better all rounder im looking forward to trying out a proper sticky tyre & if it only lasts one season im happy enough as it's just for fun & hey i could be doing silly things instead like spending 20k on a camper van or whatever.


Bt023's were also about 40 quid dearer


Local guy was quite pleasant, good price i think plus he says he just charges 15 quid straight charge per wheel for fitting & thats without me having to take the wheels off so yep im chuffed wi that.

You did say they were shit in the wet. At least your ok, have a sence of humor about it  and not  .

This was my company bike so the tyres r conti motion. Ok in the dry just and ok in the wet on an abs bike. My fzs1000 has the pirelli diablo.

I currently run Maxxis Supermaxx.

Never again.

They were cheap, and they don't let me forget it either. The tyres feel boggy, they don't corner brilliantly. I've taken them to the edge of the rear, but it's a fight getting them there, they're too flat for my taste. Also, the rear will soon need replacing after only 4,400 miles. It'll need a change before I go back to France, so call it a life of 4,500 miles. Not brilliant by any standard. And that's 4,500 of reasonably careful riding: very rare and very short skids, and no burnouts at all.

In the wet, they've never filled me with confidence, and today, they've been god-awful. Nearly went into the back of van because I didn't really want to brake (no trust in 'em). Looking forward to getting new tyres!!

Loose wheels are £7.99 per wheel, and roll in roll out is £39.99 in Newcastle where I go..

The only experience of bike tyres ive got is A-the bike school tyres when i was learning & B-my current tyres that were on the bike when i got it & ive no idea what age they are.i've never riden a bike with new tyres worn by me woth my style of riding.


The tyres ive got on now are the aptly smeg sounding - Michellin Macadam


I cant really comment on whether they are good or not, alli can say is ive almost got them to the edge I've had fun with them on.i really dont know any better to say otherwise.


So a set of Diablos im pretty sure will be a grand step up & i look forward to them.

Shame there wasnt a good spread of stats for the diablos but i do like the sounds of them.


In the interest of fazer science i shall try them & report back.

I've only got as far as a BT021 on the rear, paired with a Metzeler M1 on the front.
Always stuck with the same combo as i've found them to work brilliantly for me.
Oddly enough, if you reversed that combination from front to back you could possibly have the worst pair of tyres ever according to reviews that i've read before!

They r different tyres for different riding. Hard to compare.   023 is a sport tourer. Harder compound longer life. The diablo is a sport tyre.  Softer etc etc. i dont ride in the wet so for me perfect. 3000 miles of bliss and counting :-)
