Good lad! Just shows what times we're living in that I find this interesting. Growl.
I had a test ride on the VFR1200 a couple of years ago as a possible replacement for the Fazer and one of the many many reasons I didn't buy one was the tank capacity. Now funnily enough, there's a huge thread on the VFR1200 forum where half say they get 90 miles to reserve and some others seem to manage 160. But it's the level of bitterness on that forum that makes me chuckle. They're all paranoid about that bike!
I think the best anyone's done on a VFR is 212 and I just knew the Fazer would knock that into a cocked hat, and here we are.
Personally, I've caned the Fazer for 180 miles on a tank and cruised to an easy 210. My worst was 110 on a track day.
I bet if you rode as slowly as some of those VFR owners you could get 280 on a tank on a Fazer. but that would be 70 to the gallon which is what BIKE magazine got out of one on an mpg test a few years ago.
Poor ol' VFR owners. Beaten yet again by a dull old straight four designed almost 15 years ago.
