stripped thread
« on: 23 April 2013, 09:00:20 pm »
Hi all

Have stripped thread on gen 1 trying to fit givi rack.

This is the front grab handle mounting point,i.e. pillion grab handle off, front rack mounting bolt in same place and thread stripped on bike frame mounting hole/thread,i.e. bolt goes in but will not grab thread and tighten.

Is there a 'trick of the trade' for this type of thing?

Thanks

you could re tap with a larger thread or weld a nut on in place ,
