What would you buy?

Got authorisation to spend £600 on my FZS600 2002 MK1.
Question is; apart from a full service, new tyres, head races, brakes which have just been overhauled...
What would you spend it on to prolong life, make it run better, prevent breakdowns etc...
Are there any parts electrical or mechanical that you'd change now because they are prone to failure.

Stainless Downpipes - Originals will hole eventually.
Braided Brakelines.
Heated Grips - If you're a winter rider.
K&N Air Filter
Fenda Extenda - EBay Real Carbon 20 quidish.

Updated Front Sprocket Nut before original falls off.

If the £600 has to provide a pair of tyres, head races and full service you wont have a huge amount left. Id buy a battery conditioner for the winter if youre not planning to ride it, or if unlike me youre a proper biker who will be totting up the miles over winter Id definately get a chain lube device of some sort, lubeman do one for around 20-30 I think and a scottoiler is ££'s more. will save money and hassle in the long run. Generally these fazers seem to be pretty reliable, usual jap stuff, the only failure Ive had that wasnt a consumable was a fuel pipe giving way due to age, these are 30 odd quid a shot. but generally Id say spend the extra cash on petrol and enjoy the bike   bear in mind that these bikes are pretty cheap and dont really warrant a huge investment as there are so many about. That being said its probably the best bike that Ive ever owned.

I'd make sure it had a set of braided brake hoses and that its tyres were less than 5 yrs old.
 
Stopping and preventing metal-tarmac contact ... Important.
Other stuff ... less important and can usually be fixed reactively for a less than £100.
 
Also , don't ride it when there's salt on the roads. Salt dissolves FZS600s starting with the rear brake calipers, moving on to the engine paint, then the rear suspension linkage and then the downpipes.

Thanks for the replies, good idea about the stainless exhaust, i might put some extra money towards the braided brake lines.
Yes i do ride all winter but only 10 miles each way to central london, no need for heated grips.
Already get the scottoiler, hugger and extenda.

i said i'd let you know how it turned out, not very interesting but i did promise.
The authorisation was going to be from my insurance company, then they sent me a cheque instead. So unfortunately i was sensible and spent it on things we need for the house, like sprucing up the bathroom a bit.
But at least i got the front tyre and treated it to a long overdue service.

These bikes are a lot of fun as standard and dont need a fortune spending on them to make them a great ride, in truth the money is probably better spent on your bathroom anyway as there is such a thing as a diminishing return.
