Front camchain guide blade

Does anyone have any helpful tips for reinstalling the front camchain guide with the engine in? ('99 fzs600) I managed to remove it without too much trouble, but for the life of me I can't seem to get it back because the forks/yoke are in the way...

Well don't panic. One of the tech heads might have a knack in doing it. But if the forks/yokes are in the way to get it in, then they would have to been in the way getting it out. So since you did manage to get it out, there must be a specific angle that you found to have been able to have pulled it out...so you need to keep playing around to find that angle again to get it back in or wait until one of the tech heads come along.

when i did mine i loosened the brackets on the rad and just managed to get it in......says nothing about that in the haynes manual...........are you adjusting valve clearences ?

If you cannot get it back in by loosening the radiator and moving it out of the way a bit and heating it, then your only option is to remove the camshafts. You have learned the hard way, just because it comes out with a bit of wiggling does not mean it will go back in as the forces applied are in a different direction and the inside of the tunnel is not exactly smooth. Make sure you don't crack it     which is why you need to heat it as it will be less prone to cracking.
I am surprised you got it out with out removing the exhaust cam.  If you have to go the camshaft removal route make sure you have a torque wrench to tighten the camshaft bolts.
No easy answer to this one unfortunately, good luck
