European Breakdown cover
« on: 26 February 2013, 12:29:01 pm »
I know it's been done before but.....

Planning a trip to the land of the garlic munchers in a few weeks but need to sort out breakdown cover. Imam sorted on my bike but my son's bike is 12 years old. Who is the best (cheapest) company to go with for older bikes?

For the last couple of years I've used Eurotunnel, they cover vehicles up to 15 years old.

THanks Pat but they only seem to cover vehicles if you book a crossing with them.

Don't think that's right . I've also been wondering about European breakdown cover and so phoned them for a quote. Specifically asked if could still cover even though I'm using ferry and he said no problem. £45. They tell you something different?

No, not spoken to them, just looked at the web site. Will try calling in the morning as they are closed now.
On the web, you can only do the insurance with a travel booking.

you not have one of these bank accounts which provide "add ons" - we have one that does breakdown recovery
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - strawberries in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming - WOO HOO! What a Ride!"

Laz, I have cover for me, but my son is the one that needs it for his T reg ER5. That's not covered by my bank or annual cover.
