Nothing Exupnut does could ever surprise me  :rolleyes  ...unless he ever actually rides the  :faz :eek

Today not quite as good as yesterday, but had it's highlights.
First off, Launceston castle:

Then up to the north coast, cuppa stop at Boscastle:

Not as picturesque as I remember it, must have been thinking of somewhere else. And that kind of set the scene for the day. Went on to Tintagel, but when I got there I just couldn't be bothered. Too early for a pasty, couldn't be arsed to walk out to the castle, so just cracked on.

One of the day's highlights was riding the coast road from St. Ives to Land's End. Wild Cornwall (almost) at it's best. But you can't beat walking the coast path between the busy places, where you see almost no one all day.

On that road, typical relic of tin  mining days:

Then arrived at Land's End. First thing I did was to walk along the cliff top path away from the crowds:

Then back to the busy bit for the de rigour photo:

The A394 from there to Penzance was another good bit - had to watch out for strong gusts of wind on exposed bits though. Then blasted back to the B&B near Callington along the A390, via Helston, Truro, St. Austell, Liskeard etc. Some good bits on that road here and there too.

Don't know what to do tomorrow - last day here. Don't want to just wind up at all the tourist traps again, just want some good scenery and roads to ride. Might explore the Tamar valley.

The A39 up near Porlock and Lynton are great for scenery and pretty decent roads, some really steep hills. You can go up to just past Minehead and take the A396 that goes through Exmoor and ends up at Tiverton that is a great road pretty technical. That was the last ride I did on my Fazer before I shut it away to try and sell, it was great.

Yes, but I did all those on an Exmoor visit not that long ago. Since I'm down here, I want to keep it to Cornwall for this trip. Gonna have a look at the map tonight, see if I can come up with anything. I've fitted more in over two days than I thought I would.

You're probably already familiar with this area, but the Port issac, Polzeath, Padstow, Rock, Harlyn stretch of coast is always worth a look. You have covered a lot of ground in two days tho!. Great pics.

A route I often take when I'm on holiday at Croyde, it's excellent! :thumbup

Next year I may take the A39 south down towards Cornwall, anyone got any suggestions for a route going that way?

Changed the oil and filter as it hit the 54K mile marker.
Shame I never got a service record book when I bought it as it really has been done religiously by me and never wanted for anything. Have no plans to sell it but always better to have some written proof of maintence done I think.

A ride in the sunshine to Bala for dinner, via Ruthin, Cerrig, Frongoch, around 88 miles all in. Spent most of the time chatting to fellow bikers coming and going at the lakeside. Police bikers there again, friendly, had a natter. Speed detector van waiting at top of hill leaving Bala on the Trawsfynydd road in the 30mph zone.

Lazy day today. Rode to Looe and spent a good couple of hours wandering about, strolling on the beach etc. Then along the coast a little way to Polperro, did much the same. Enjoyed a walk along the cliff path - took me back to when I walked a good chunk of it back in '97. Didn't have to go far from the town to find some solitude in a beautiful place. Was hot today, but a fresh sea breeze made it enjoyable nonetheless.

Then went on to the Bodinnick ferry to cross to Fowey. Didn't spend much time there before going to Megavissey; likewise. Then thought, foc it, and went back to Looe for chish and fips, more lazy strolling, enjoying the sea air and sunshine, before deciding to wrap up early. Very tired after 4 days, especially with all the walking mixed in with the riding. That'll do for me, homeward bound tomorrow.

Not many shots of the bike in different places today, should I bother? All a bit holiday-snap-ish.

Best road ridden today was on the way back from Megavissey - there's a turn-off from the A390 for Looe; cracking bit of twisty country lane, had some fun on that one  :)

Crash bungs?

On the ball Luke. I replaced the crash bungs with what is probably the last set of brand new Yamaha black engine bars for the FZS1000 in Europe. Part number 5LV-W0741-20 and they were available as a Yamaha accessory for the FZS1000
Always liked the way they blend in with the frame. No longer in production or available.
Found them by accident when searching for 5DM Yamaha Bars bars for the FZS600 which I also found in chrome

(Forgot to put down the passenger pegs for the pic)
