I thought the FZ1 would be making more power than that with all the mods tbh. Just goes to show that the FZS isn't too bad with nearly 140rwhp with Full Monty. I guess the difference would seem like plenty though, the FZ1 being a much lighter bike.

Today I did clean an accumulation of flies off the front and other paintwork, just hot water and a soft sponge. Couldn't believe how many it picked up on just one short spin yesterday evening. Part of the process of getting to know the new bike; found some minor marks here and there, but you'd really have to be looking closely to see them.

My full monty fzs1000 only put out around the 135bhp at the wheel on the same dyno. suppose it depends on dyno/air temp etc etc... My fz1 whips the shit out of my mates gen1 0-100 helps having the quickshift as it makes reaction time even less. Its also miles better round the twisties as well that being said i miss the low end grunt of the fzs and the massive fuel range. That being said the hp is around 10bhp more buth the torque value is only 2/3 more per lb.

Well, seeing as the old girl has recently turned 50k miles, for peace of mind I had the valve clearances checked for the first time....All within tolerance.
Had the AIS system removed while it was there for ease of maintenance in the future.
Going to continue with my regular, quality oil changes and have them checked again at 100k.

Did you write down and keep the values?

Not me personally unfazed as I got my bike mechanic old school friend to do the work but all the inlet valves were between 0.13 and 0.16, exhaust were all around 0.22. Apparently tolerances should be between 0.11 and 0.2, exhaust, 0.2 and 0.25, so all well within tolerance.

Red, I resemble that remark  :D  and no, didn't use a kit, AIS was taken off whole so can be refitted if need be and was blocked off using old bubblegum and bogeys found under my bed.  :lol

I recognise Skiddaw and Blencathra. Not sure about the pass...looks like...Kirkstone? Where was the campsite?

Campsite at Braithwaite...used it a few times now for short breaks. £12 a night with decent showers etc.
The pass leads down to Buttermere from the Honister Slate Mine.

Ah yeah, I know it. Had some good walks in the fells around Honister and Buttermere; a walk over Haystacks comes down past the slate mine to the café. I was camped by Buttermere that time and walked down that road to get back to the campsite  :)

Good trip generally?

Wonderful
I was only going for a day-trip due to the forecast but at the last minute the forecast changed and I stayed dry!
Don't need to be away long to have had a break :)

Fitted some front LED fogs and extra brake light to the back as I'm fed up with people pulling out on my, or nearly rear ending me as I slow to pull onto my driveway.

Only problem is, the fronts have 3 modes (full beam, half brightness and flashing) so you have to cycle through them before riding off. I'd set it to full beam when I left the house and it had managed to end up on flashing by the time I got to work. :o
I think some re-soldering might be needed  :D
