Finally got round to going out for a ride for the sake of riding - must have been 4 or 5 weeks since I last managed that. Going to be another 4 or 5 by the time it happens again as well

Went out for a wee bimble and got caught in a few showers...... and then cleaned all the crud and bugs off it again.... I'm really starting to bond with it....

Been putting the Gilles rearsets on


A few problems but got around them with a bit of garage engineering.

Then had a look at the gear change rod which Gilles make go on the outside of the frame for the reason that the pegs are adjustable, so the rod moves up or down when you move the pegs,,so the rod going through the frame will snag,or not line up..so i checked the peg position , then drilled and tapped the lever and reversed the rod mount and hey presto,,rod goes through the frame.

so very happy , tested them out,brake light working,gear change..all ok

Fitted new (to me) front calipers as mine were quite worn. New pads, got front forks setup better, cleaned the scotoiler dual injector, waited fo new chain and sprockets to arrive but they didn't

Went up North to a friend's to watch LeMan's MotoGP, and have HEL braided hoses fitted to front brakes. With some fancy blue DOT4 as well!

On the way back down, saw a lad texting on his phone, whilst dozing along in the fast lane. And then today I saw this helmet sticker idea!!!

As per Pats instructions . Took the throttle housing cover off and lubed the cables , took the choke housing cover off  and removed the clutch lever and lubed the cables , also cleaned and applied wd40 to the electrical terminals .
Removed the exup valve and cleaned and regreased and reassembled , and lubed the exup cables , whilst doing this noticed the bottom exup cable is frayed , something to keep an eye on .

Picked it up after treating it to some PR2's, braided hoses, chain and sprockets and a brake lever, filled the tank with nad-cooling go juice, disturbed classes in 15 primary schools dropping of some flyers for the after-school clubs we run and then headed down to Spilsby Bike Night. Arrived home with fuel light just coming on and a big grin

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you sold a blue gen 1 to get a red gen2? You're really not getting the hang of this colour thing, are you! 

Took it for MOT - sailed through of course 

Oh yeah, and dropped it! 
Dozy pillock that I am, I parked up on White Horse Hill to get a couple of shots, gradient was too steep and I didn't put it in gear, so it rolled off the side stand  Thankfully, NO damage done as it went over onto a soft verge with me trying to keep it up, but had to let it go down - doh! And just before the feckin MOT!

What

Yellow is for Garden Gnomes  Nicks bike just wanted to go back to its roots in the garden
Blue is for slow Bandits
Silver is for Silver Dream Racer wannabes. 
Black is for the who want a red one, but are afraid it's to fast for them.
And Red, well Red is the fastest colour for the fastest bike with the fastest rider

And Red, well Red comes from when they had a guy walking in front of slow vehicles with a red flag - the labour charge got too high so they started painting the vehicles red instead

took mine to work in the rain.  Got some Karrimor waterproof over-trousers last weekend from Sports Direct (£20) and they are actually fantastic, better than the Hein Gerrick ones I had previously.
