finaly got out for my first little bimble since late november last year, put the battery back on the bike in glorious sunshine, started her up and left her to warm up while i went to get kitted up,looked out the window at bloody hail stones and a sudden gale blowing  :(

let the rogue shower pass, and went out anyway, had a great 90 minute ride around my 'got no where to head' route plus a extra fast blat along the A303 to see what the fazer has got to offer (bearing in mind ive only pottered around a few times since getting her last october),she's no thunderace ( God i miss the torque of my old Ace) but she goes when the need is there.

got home, washed the muck off her and lubed the chain, noticed the exhaust id put on was a bit loose,so re-fitted that. text my friend that id been out on the bike, while she's stuck at work and her R6 is still tucked up in her garage, she was'nt best pleased!!  :lol

all in all,a great way to spend a few spare hours on a day off- roll on spring!  8)

Put on a set of Kappa panniers with motohaus frame carriers.  Seems like I broke all my fingers doing it!  Had to relocate rear indicators, re hang number plate replace grab rails fix brackets on to pasenger footrests and then mount the frames to carry the panniers.  Instructions with the goods were1 fuzzy exploded badly drawn diagram and a list of bolt types.  Took me hours but seems worth it....... roll on the hols...

Went for a little birthday blast in the glorious sunshine, got the feeling spring is on the way.

Missed that one! A belated Happy Birthday from me too dazza!

Ain't no one here getting any younger, but hopefully, some are getting wiser!  ;) :lol

Went to Cirencester first thing to get oil & filter changed. While he was at it, he cleaned and lubed the chain and all pivots (stands, footpegs etc). Charged for oil and filter and 20 mins labour. Good man, when you can't do these things yourself it's nice to find someone like that  :)

Then rode to Sharpness to get photie for the pic challenge. All done by 10:30. Looked at the map and thought, well, only a couple of junctions down the M5 for the Severn Bridge - first Wales run of the year? DO IT!

Enjoyable ride from Chepstow up the Wye Valley to Monmouth. Some rain, some sun, some wet roads, some dry ones. That pretty much set the tone for the day. Stopped at Tintern Abbey for a few snaps, then on to Oasis Café at Abergavenny. Brief break and then on to West End Café at Llandovery. Sausage , egg, chips and beans (and, Slimwilly and Noggy, oooooh yes it was a BIG pile of chips nom nom  :lol ).

Then zapped up the 483, Builth Wells, Landrindod Wells, Crossgates. Home on the A44 via Leominster, Worcester &c. Approx 350 miles all in.

Tired, achey, but  :) :) :) :)

Nice one Nick :thumbup .....most interested in that breakfast...makes for tantalising reading.....foc i need to get the noggyfighter out the shed & do a few solo bimbles to get back into it....i got another couple of weeks of work & then it's oil change & hope that the weather has cleared up a bit,

might nip to diddlydee for some of those cheap thermals since i dont have winter gear & then do some exploring as it is shameful that you've seen more of wakes than me :o ,

Yep, walked across it, biked all over it, and eaten big breakfasts from top to bottom of it!

I met a fella once on a barren Welsh hillside in the middle of nowhere. It was like Monty Python. Saw him at first in the distance. He got closer. And closer. He's headed straight for me, I thought. Closer he comes. And closer. He made a beeline straight to me.

"Hi. Did you know there are more sheep in Wales than people, boyo?"

"Then how come Welsh lamb is so foccin expensive mate?"

"Ah, see, you got a point there. Bye now". And off he goes again.

Well, it was a while ago, but that's pretty damn close to what happened. Weird in Wales  :lol

I've heard that, across the road & down the lane a bit, cant be as much room for bikes though surely, never been down there.

Last time i went to llandovery it was thick fog all the way from Haverfordwest...then it cleared just going into llandovery like some kind of biking holy signal that all was well. :)

Point about the West End is that it's the focus for Llandovery's (and much of mid Wales' ) bike scene. Never seen the bike lot go anywhere else there, apart from the camp site. All the other tea rooms and cafes seem a bit dead by comparison. And yes, plenty of parking at the W. E. Good regular crowd there most decent evenings who'll chat and make you welcome too. Got chatting to a coupla guys today - it's all just really friendly.

Nick I am not sure if you use facebook - if you do have a search for https://www.facebook.com/owlsnesttearoomdiner?fref=tsand you can see the number of bikers they have their. Not sure what the shift is due to but a few mates have made the change.

PS I have not been there yet

After my ride the other day when the big yellow thing in the sky made an appearance, I realised I needed a dark visor for my Shoei. Trying to fit my sunglasses with my lid on was just too painful but paying €80 for a new OEM dark visor would be even more painful!

A quick ebay search revealed cheap Chinese knock off's can be had for a fraction of the cost, just without the pinlock  :)

I thought all Shoei's had glasses grooves! My old one certainly did.

Removed the Beowulf exhaust on my 600 and polished it up then remove the Fuel can on the thou and attempted to fit the Beowulf... only to find that the link pipe is about 4-5mm larger for the Fuel system so it won't fit... in fact, the link pipe has the exact same internal and external diameter as the connection on the Beowulf :(

Going to have to either find a connecting piece of metal, or buy a new link pipe :\

But still, refitted the Fuel can and went for a spin around the South of Bristol and North Somerset :)
