Tested the ignition wiring and all is fine. Took the carbs off and started to clean them and I is now drinking beer.

Fitted lever protectors on to stop my Oxford Muffs pushing against the levers. Seems to work. Also had new gold DID chain fitted. The last chain lasted a proxy 4500 miles. Expecting at least 12k from this chain.
4500 miles :eek  Fit a Scottoiler... my DID VX chain done almost 16k so far and been adjusted 3 times (two of those was when the wheel was out for a tyre) since.  I did fit a new sprocket a couple of weeks ago (at 15k), but at £8/each that's not a big deal.

4.5K!!

Lubricate your chain man!

You should see at least 30k from a chain...

I'm in total agreement. My chain has only been adjusted 3 times in about 8000 miles. My scotoiler is off at the moment but as soon as I've got some new clear tube I'll put it back on. I'm using Chain and Cable spray grease nicked from work and it's doing a great job but the fly off is horrendous. I can't believe how filthy the bike has got after the thorough clean i gave it a few weeks back. Our second car is going soon so no more choice between cage or bike.

I lube my chain after every ride. It was a cheap chain that the garage put on. The previous DID chain did at least 15k.

Finally finished up the wiring for the heated grips :)

Decided that since work was quiet that I would go out for a ride... but the battery was flat :( So had my first foray into the delight of bump starting a bike... got it on my 3rd try and due to not being very fit had a lack of oxygen in my brain and put the side stand down whilst it was still in gear *facepalm* engine cut out... So off I go and bump it again, got it straight away though thank god...

The battery being flat gave me an excuse to go out for an "extended" play ^^ Had a bit of fun with a random biker who caught up to on the A46 before doing some twisty bits towards Wooten-Under-Edge and back down the A38 for a lazy end to the ride. Weather was miserable, roads were a bit damp and the sky was threatening rain but thoroughly enjoyed going out ^^

Saw a small patch of blue sky and took it as a sign that I had to go out, got about 10 miles and it started coming down in lumps but it's only water and we don't dissolve!

Refitted the exhaust ( anyone know what the correct torque is for the header nuts  )  , and reconnected the EXUP cables which I labelled T & B , i'm getting forgetfull in my old age .
Also pulled the leads off the plugs and labelled them NO,NI,OI,OO .

I'm sure I read on here it's 10Nm for the header nuts. I'm sure someone will confirm though

Yup, 10Nm for the exhaust studs :) Don't want to put them on too tight

Spot on paul , mine are numbered 1-4 as well , but with my memory I would still forget which way I took them off , I was going to label LO, LI ,RI,RO , but that would depend  if I was looking from the front or back .

found some black wax polish for car trim, hiding in the garage.  Took off the black plastic fairing lower inside panels and side bits on the airbox etc and cleaned n buffed em with this black wax stuff.  Was a moment of OCD but fazer looks good.
