sent those hoses on Deadeye

Good stuff, I'll wait till Deadeye has sent them on to sfs before I email them to let them know it's on the way and start further negotiations  :)

Hi all new here lots of great info on this site, and came across this post and I would be up for buying a kit if the price is right, just one thing though and please excuse my ignorance but if the fazer has the thundercat engine wouldn't this kit http://www.stpmotorsport.co.uk/index.php/motorbike-parts-accessories/motorcycle-samco-silicone-hose-kits/motorcycle-samco-silicone-road-hose-kits/motorcycle-silicone-hose-kit-yamaha/yamaha-yzf-600-r6-1999-2002-6-piece.html# work? I'm thinking the rad might be mounted differently though? Just a thought

Hi FZSCai,

Welcome to the site  8)

I'll pop your name on the list  8)  keep checking this thread for updates.

The thundercat kit sounds like an idea, not one i'd considered but pretty sure the 'cats engine etc is layed out quite differently... I'd happily be proved wrong though if anyone else knows?? I'm not sure that link is to a thundercat's kit. I had a quick look but their website is quite poor so couldn't actually see a thundercat specific one.

Hey cai,welcome,

You've gone & said the fateful words of doom but dont worry bout it,everyone seems to think the same when they get a fazer, according to what i've read so far it isnt a thundercat engine although may share some parts,it is confusing & i'm not sure i fully understand it yet but it seems that reviewers havent helped by stating it plus the haynes manual being the same for fazer/thundercat.the link was for the r6 too but maybe there was a thundercat option on the website you posted.i do know one thing, i've never heard or seen anyone even mention using thundercat parts on their fazer or using the thundercat engine or whatever so im pretty confident they arent the same.

Anyway that aside it's good to have another possible as i think the guys organising needed about 10 for the initial order & they'll get a discount for doing the organising.

Happy hunting, theres so much useful stuff on her

Sorry chris, we posted at the same time :rolleyes

No need to appologise buddy  :D

We now have 8 people interested in the kits! Woop!  :)  To clarify, the company producing them will only make them if we have a minimum order of 10 kits so that's why it is ten kits we're aiming for  8)

Mornin mr chris

As we're so close, i'm willing to purchase 2 sets of hoses in effect taking us up to 9.

Actually you know what i'll even buy 3 if the price is right as i'll have no problem punting them on in the summer
When hopefully a few regional foccer rideouts will go ahead.

So in theory we now have the 10.

I hate seeing a good plan not come together.

Morning Mr nog  :D

A very kind offer indeed but don't feel that you have to commit to more than one set, I am also happy to buy more than one set if required so we'll see what happens. The company might say they want a million pounds for each set... I don't have a million of anything... even brain cells... hahaha! Thanks again for the offer. If we can't get ten people by the time we place an actual order then i'll be in touch and we can sort it out, thanks again for the offer.

Cheers for the warm welcome, yes found tumps of useful info around the site.

I had a feeling they'd be different from just looking at both a fazer engine and a cat one they look different but your right noggy nearly everywhere when reviewing it call it a thundercat / early r6 engine, anyways I can't wait for a price and would love a set to show off the engine abit,

On another note would it be possible to find out if the new hose would replace the pipe section by the rad as mine looks disgusting and full of rust or could someone point me in the right direction on where to find a replacement?

Cheers

Cai if you go to downloads on the top bar of site i believe there's an electronic version of the manual on there,

I havent actually openend it up as i have a hard copy haines manual.

I dont think the pipe will be replaced, just the hoses,

If you struggle to find it i can always check my manual.

Not a bad idea replacing it,dont think it commonly goes but i do recall someone saying here theirs went half way through a rideout.

I will be sending those metal pipes along with the rest of the rubber ones so I would expect them to quote for replacing this pipe as well :) Only catch being that either we, or they would have to design some sort of mechanism to hold the new silicon pipes in the correct position. Realistically, some cable ties would do the job but after getting fancy silicon pipes it might be nice to have proper brackets.

Yes, to be honest I think they'll just be making replicas of the rubber hoses without the metal parts but Deadeye is sending them everything so they can decide. I really hope after all this the pipes will be a decent price! haha.

As for the pipe that looks rusty and rubbish, a quick little sand with some fine sand paper to remove the rust and a bit of hammerite paint or other metal paint will bring it up a bit and stop it rusting as quickly.

Cheers, Chris

Hahaha, my sentiments exactly.  :lol

We'll just have to wait and see what the guy says and then we can all decide before I get back to him to make the order or not.   8)

Good show, cheers Bozboz, I'll pop your name on the list. We can select any colours from their colour list for individual kits in the order. Once we know a price i'll get in touch and if people are still interested then I'll get the colour they want then  8)

If you go page 35 of this here forum under topic samco hoses,it seems that a previous attempt was made to no avail but theres a piece of interesting info if you take a look,a reference from 2011.

Yes, cheers Mr Nog, i spotted that thread while searching for a ready made kit, of which I couldn't find any. For those who can't be arsed to find the thread then here is a link to it: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,968.0.html

I wouldn't be surprised if the price he was quoted is kind of what we are quoted, but as said earlier in this thread then I'd hate to predict the price  ;)

I'd say they'd sell way more kits if it comes in under 100, over that you're getting into OEM territory

Yes, if they were ten quid for a kit they'd sell loads too. haha.

We'll just wait and see what the guy says, if it's too much then we can haggle a bit but at the end of the day we don't have to buy them.  :D
