Tips for car drivers
« on: 19 January 2013, 08:53:39 am »
When safe to do so I drive off line. With the snow settling in ruts are forming and its not long before roads are blocked.  If a few cars and trucks took a different line this would help keep a wider lane. In my wagon I drive with my offside tyres on the white line. I do this all year to keep the grit from building up too. Nothing worse than doing an overtake and the centre line is built up.

Mickey.

Here's another: why don't you car drivers pop down to your local garage and get your indicators fixed so that other road users can see where the f**k you're going!

I was waiting to pull out on to a main road the other day, there was a big gap all but for one car so I waited for him to pass but as he reached the road I was in he turned down it......no indication and talking on his phone. I then had to wait for another gap. Grrr or it was something like that I said. Some people are totaly oblivious of others or just selfish and done care, it's the same with queues some people seem to think queues dont apply to them anyway rant over

i tend to disperse the grit when i can. i take a slightly different line as long as its safe as sometimes there is a grit line even into the summer! as far as motorway etiquette is concerned, the fast lane belongs to me. i tend to sit there constantly as i drive a little faster than the flow but i'll move over for a faster car/cops etc. the cops tend to do it anyway as the only mirror you need to watch is your rear view. safer as far as i'm concerned, but not if your constant speed is 70. my car seems comfortable at 80-85.

Try Chelmsford... don't even attempt to use the lanes or people will crash in to you. Just sort of follow the person in front and hope for the best :P

Swindon has soooo many roundabouts but at least they seem to be used correctly :) I have a friend who lives there so occasionally drive through

Blind spots dont check themselves and if you're always in such a rush that you need to drive like an inconsiderate twat then maybe set off a bit earlier
