I remember we used to have a thread started by Bong, where those that wanted to get their post counts up used to post, what was it called again  ??

I love how people who steered clear of Foc-u in favour of other sites, run by their pals, now preening about what it should be like.

I always thought it more of a social circle than purely a bike based site.  If you wanted technical help on a bike issue someone would give you it,  hopefully laden with sarcasm and piss taking from others.  The beauty of the net.  I liked the diversity of the site,  and would have quickly become bored of talking about bikes whenever I logged on.

I'm sure many people have made lasting friendships via Foc-u regardless of the title.

As for organising a meet,  Cleveland Point next Sunday anyone?

:lol you bunch of nutters :rollin

Hey Trev (purplebear, not BM) I understand a lot of your sentiments (struggling a bit with the diving analogy though :pokefun ), but its been a long while since anyone was on a postcount boost. I think the comments about postcounts were more a reference to newer members not knowing some of the history of the site, and the many events, incidents, meets, pisstakes, arguments, etc that have occurred over the years and which make this site more of a club than just a forum. Some of the "fault" for this lack may lie with the absence of some of the longer term foccers who for various reasons have taken a sabbatical, but also a lot of the historical posts containing the "history" have been lost in the moves/crashes/virus attacks.
There have been a number of times over the years when folks have said "its not like it used to be", but that happens everywhere. Saying that, the last day or so it's felt a bit like old times  :D

One comment in this thread stood out for me... the forum/club needs a revival of regular local and national meets.

I think it was along the lines of whoever posts last is the best, or something like that. Bong and Big Mac ramblings in the main.

I haven't come on much in the past few years, not had so much time. Then the people here change so I don't know lots of the new members. I have a lot of the old foccers on fb so sort of keep up that way. Would have loved to have popped in more often but I don't have time to keep up with various different people in different places, sadly that's just the fun of working from home and having kids. I-d organise a meet out here if anyone wants to come. Trouble is the ride here would be a bit long

As for getting off virtual arses  - Exupnut, Dead_Eye and I had a ride out today, have one planned for next week (see the North London Foccers meet), and I just signed another bloke up to both the forum and the meet. Good enough?  :lol
