the battery that is!
t'other week i pulled a calf muscle bumping the bloody thing as the battery wouldn't hold charge. stuck a charger on it for 24hrs and bugger me with a bugle, it's alive again. left it overnight and this morning fired up as if it were summertime. over to keynsham, lights on, no problems. i was so happy i even oiled the chain when i got back ;)

Good news for now, but i concur, as soon as you leave it a week it'll be goosed again.

Mine seems to be OK for now, but was a bit weak when I first got and used the bike.

Left it on an optimate for a week and it's been fine, even being left and only started once in 3 weeks, so I must have caught it. The only sign of weakness pre-charge was weak lights. Previous owner had had it laid up for 6 months in his garage.

Fingers crossed for you though.  :)

it did the same last year. left it for 8 weeks with the alarm on, 1 good charge later and we're top banana.
just a bit strange that a 20 mile ride didn't put enough juice into it for a start...........and yes i've checked the genny output ;)

I only have to leave it a week or so before I'm bumping it off, I'm getting pretty good.

I usually run my fazer all year round , and in 9 yrs of running one have never had to charge up a battery until last month. Its not been used much since june 2012 , and then maybe an hour at a time...that wont charge up a low battery like 2 days on an optimate will...I have recovered very severely drained batterys for my cars before, and they have gone on for some months afterwards. The fazer battery took 1.5 days to get  a green light on the charger , it wouldnt crank the engine before charging , but it span like  a good un thereafter . :)
My fazer battery is 4 yrs old....so might be getting towards the latter part of its life... :\
