I usually get about 52-55mpg, never less than 50, but that says more about my riding style more than anything, I dont thrash it everywhere or do much riding around towns. If I fill it up on the main stand and squeeze the last 1/2 litre in the reserve light comes on at around 165-170 miles.

Im spot on with Phil. Filled up today from orange light to full, but i always put in exactly 20 quid. Which is 14.1 litres of Premium unleaded. 3.08 gallons. I did 169 miles and its pretty regular mileage, with some sane and crazy driving still giving 55mpg. FYI my 600 has done 15k miles.

Thats interesting. I did a quick calculation in my head the other day and came up with 60 mpg which I thought was waaaay too high. So, allowing for the fact that I am useless at sums, maybe 55 could be about right. I usually go to 150 before filling up, and light is not on at that point, so it is interesting to know that your light comes on at 165 to 170. I think the manual says you've got about 30 miles once its on, so maybe the smaller tank ain't so bad after all  :)

Just seen this months RIDE magazine puts the Fazer 8 at No 27 in the "economy challenge leader board" @ 50.2 mpg...thats not too bad I suppose. ( I wish it was a lot more  :'( )

Had my Fazer 8 six months and it consistently return 55mpg, now I have adapted from an R1 and a Fazer 1000, loving it, even did a couple of track sessions at Brands Hatch last week, first time on an upright bike after 10 years of R1's!!
Bit rusty but lost my chicken strips on second session, reckon if it had been a normal day, would have been flying by the end of the day. Was on standard road set up, as had to alternate with road sessions in between.
Did have a chat with suspension guy after first session, as bike not as planted as R1, but he said there was little he could do on Fazers (He was only charging £20), so I guessed it was in my head and got on with it, which worked.
I am just in front of the camera on the first session sighting laps, no overtaking allowed!
