my little pony is running in the 1245 at ascot today (21/12/12) and no.1 daughter (the trainer) reckons at 25/1 is worth a punt each way as the last run out he showed a clean pair of hoofs to a class field

FFS when will people wise up that if the bookies didnt make all the money , they would have stopped eons ago !  :'(

You're right there sir.

My youngest brother was an addicted gambler a few years ago. Ruined himself and got ccj's etc.
When he won he won big and we'd all hear about it but you never saw him while he was losing!

This post has touched a raw nerve with me today. My wife & kids are leaving me because of my horse racing addiction as I type this. They're at the gate now.. .   & they're off!

My Uncle had a couple of race horses in Ireland and in fact I think he's still got them even though they don't race any more (which is another story). As he had an "in" to the racing world I asked him for a couple of tips once.


He told me to bet on a horse called "Archibald"


I think the odds were around 1/9 at the time,,,,

never did any good on the horses but in my late fathers stuff was a race card from 1946, written in it was a tote bet that he had won, at todays value he had won over £10,000.
