Calling All Divers
« on: 10 November 2012, 09:30:01 am »
Hi Guys,
Completely Off Topic ... but hopefully helping to keep this place alive thumbs up

As with many other 'action type' pass-times .. us Bikers are often well into other sports .. I think we might have a few Sports Scuba Divers in here.
thumbs down   That's the hand signal for going down now .. read on.

The December issue of one of the main UK Diving magazines 'SCUBA'  should be on the paper-shop shelf any day soon.  I have a page (probably inside of back cover) that you just might find interesting .. it knocks on into a blog that then tells the story. I hope it's going to be good good bedtime reading  confused.. but it could also open a big can of fat worms scared

Just info .. I will also post this over on the other side .. for the Divers over there Ok.

Breath easy, Stay Safe wing   Trev                         (I have no business connections with this magazine)

I used to and greatly enjoyed diving in the seas off Mexico and the Caymans.
Now have a heart problem so another little opportunity for pleasure denied me.

Both me and my eldest (17) are PADI AOW and the youngest (12) is now PADI JOW qualified but none of us dive as much as I would like.
The eldest is looking for a career in Marine Science of some sort so will start diving the cold UK waters soon but I will stick with warm waters only.

Off to the shop now to find the magazine though PB!

:\  OK ... Hold Fire on the Magazine !!

Seems the Editor's Computer went pop and he had to put this issue together from memory  :( .  We got the nod late last night that our page has Not been published !!

Needless to say I am not too impressed .. We have been working for about six months on this particular item .. he had given us time deadlines and word count limits to keep to and we did our bit to the letter (sorry)

Seems the next issue is already sorted .. so our bit has gone on the back burner until the February copy, that should be out in January.

I know a few of you (not just divers) might find this one interesting and I may be able to give you a link to follow before January .. talks are in progress.

Sorry for the **** up guys, nothing much I can do about it.  :(

Stay Safe  ;)   Trev.

No problem. No money wasted as Sainsbury didn't have any dive magazines.

I've done a bit of diving. Got the old PADI Open Water qual here in the UK but nearly all of my other dives and courses have been in Dahab, Egypt (apart from a quickie on the Ascension Islands). Done some mixed air, couple of deep dives, night diving was wonderful, a few wreck dives, rescue diver plus others (PADI rip-off stuff mostly but still fun!)

Haven't done any in a couple of years though...

I think you might get a reply to this if you posted it on the Luis Suarez homepage.
