Gen 1 front axle tool

What size is this please chaps, seem to have lost the tool I used to have - or I borrowed it and my memory is shit ! (more likely)    
 
Need to buy one today before I get home to the bike really.

Check out the ratchet end of any spark plug size sockets you may have, (not the cheap flimsy metal ones in your bike kit, they just bend)  I have one that's got a spanner 'nut' on top that's the correct fit for the front spindle, saves buying more tools.  Simply put the small extension bar through the open end of the spark plug socket and put the 'top' end of the socket into the spindle.     If you ain't got one, then yeah, then hex tool's what you're gonna need.

Or put two 19mm nuts on a 19mm bolt.

Cheers lads, I ended up not getting the wheel undone, borrowed a "19mm" tool from my brother, went to do the bike, too big!
Trawled all the tool shops in the town, nothing, until I went to Machine Mart, they have the 4 in one tool with a 3/8" drive at each end, for the sum of.... £20odd + VAT - erm, F@#K that..!
So after messing about with 19mm bolt and nuts to no avail, I've left it for next weekend, or the week after when I am off work.. Similar tool is £6 on ebay. Sadly my spark plug sockets are the wrong size too, g/f's farther lent me 3 morte that were too big aswell, DOH.
So I have a lovely brand new Diablo Strada on the rear and a granite Maxxis touring, complete with small screw through it on the front for now...

I got 2 19mm car wheel nuts welded back to back, works a treat , I keep one pair under the seat

I bought one off eBay for about 14 quid along with a spring puller for 8. The spring puller is the greatest tool ever invented (hyperbole intentional)

Actually, the cheap spark-plug tool from your bike kit WILL normally work! Just make sure you remember to undo the pinch-bolt first

Shame    When you get one, you can stick a nut inside the spark-plug tool to strengthen it (although I've never had to).
