Im lookin to remove the downpipes. Id prefere to heat the nuts beforehand to try and avoid shearing a couple off.
Which king of blowtorch would be best for small intricate work, powerfull enough & not cost the earth?

Is it not worth using a penetrating fluid first and seeing if you can get any of them off without too much hassle?
Heat should work pretty well, I've just removed the downpipes and exhaust from my burnt down bike
and the nuts practically fell off but I wouldn't recommend subjecting your bike to a garage fire...

I've used these a lot at work and can say that they do the job!
(good for lighting your fags off as well)

I've used an ordinary hot air gun, on the high setting with a constricting nozzle they can get things red hot in a few minutes. Much cheaper and you don't have to store pressurised cans of flammable gas.
