Heated grip glue

The throttle grip from my keis grips has come loose so need to fix it back in place. In the old days we used hairspray. Does this work still with the newer hairsprays? Or any recommendations for alternatives?

I stuck my heated grips on with the superglue provided.


Works a treat! If the grip breaks, I'll cut it off and sand the remaining stuff off I suppose,,,

Dunno if it works with heated grips, but push bike grips I use car colour aerosol spray paint
, quick spray on grip, ram into place, leave for 10 mins, job done.

I normally use aerosol paint but it didn't work on my heated grips.
Superglue is doing a good job.

Superglue.

To get em off, bit by bit work some brake cleaner in under the grip, it turns superglue to mush.

Hey Guys,

Not sure if its cool to tag a new question onto this one but it sounds like you guys understand how throttle grips work with throttle so gonna ask what I'm guessing is a simple question. 

Lost my throttle connect all of a sudden while riding last night and could only engage the throttle by squeezing the grips really hard.  I have oxford heated grips installed on the bike (came with it) & when I inspected the grip it turns freely independent of the underlying cylinder that actually turns the cable housing.  Is the grip meant to be glued to the cylinder or is there some other way that it is supposed to rotate it?  I'm a brand new owner/rider so learning and neither the service or haynes manual discuss anything aside from cable adjustment.

Sounds like you have the same prob.
Peel back grip and super glue the grip to the plastic sleeve underneath.
Only do outside edge, normally thats all thats needed.

I got some rubber cement glue from the local dealer and have stuck it back on. I'll leave it until tomorrow to see if it's worked.

hmmm been there before on this one let me share my way of doing it    superglue pounds shop you get 4 for a pound it dose every thing lol

get a towel and cover you the side  so you do not drip or spill .

now get the glue and put it all over the bar the quick  slide the grip on and in place job gone its been holding like that for 11 months now not a problem and done a number of my mates bikes hope this may help you out

Rubber glue failed miserably today. Taken them off again and cleaned all the crap off everything. The problem is that the grips are very loose on the throttle body. I am thinking of wrapping the throttle body in sticky parcel tape stuff and then super gluing the grips over that. Any better suggestions?

In a similar situation, I used electrical tape.  It's thicker.
