Battery recomendations
« on: 03 November 2012, 10:55:53 am »
After 9 1/2 years I think it's time to change my battery - anyone got a good recommendation?

I was looking at AGM for £48, have heard Yuasa is meant to be good and although mine has managed
to last this long, I usually have to jump start a few times in winter, which is not fun.

anyone tried a Li.On ? Someone was telling me how good they are. My battery is original on 2004 bike and i thought it was struggling a year or so ago but seems to have recovered.

The motobat ones kick ass,  fitted one a while ago and it realy increased the turnover speed for starting.

Yep I did  search motobatt and what ever forum you venture onto they recon there no1 battery to buy and far better than original more cranking power, and they say they last longer due to there internals than original battery.

I had one of those green Lithium ion batteries on an Xt600e (£130 on ebay?). Used on a work bike for 6months. I think that all day everyday riding was too much for it and the internal chip was fried. Managed to get a replacement under warranty and its sat on my shelf ever since. I just dont trust them I think they are more suited to race bikes/weekend warriors only.

Cheers, BozBoz  :)

I replaced mine with a Motobatt AGM battery this year.  In terms of starting the bike it's a good improvement over the OE unit.  Time will tell re its longevity but all the reports I read were singing its praises.  Pleased with it so far.

Any problems with the Motobatt or is it still good? Need to replace my OE battery and thought I'd ask...  Anyone know the best place to get them? I've found them on Stuff4bikes for 57 quid which seemed pretty good to me. All suggestions welcome.
