Looking in E bay and came across this

Now is it only me, but the line about he wants back what he paid for it, I m thinking it looks as if its been kept outside and left to go rusty and he thinks the next buyer should pay him what he paid for it.

He's missing the point of an auction, where the idea is you sell for the amount of money peeps are willing to pay rather than it's 'perceived' value.

a bit dearer, but I know someone who bought 3 ramps from this guy (rented a van and picked them all up together.

How is that a hydraulic bike lift? It is a lift operated by a hand pumped hydraulic car jack, leave this to rot in the bloke's garden where it has obviously been for the last 20 years and buy the real thing, much safer.

I believe the use of the car jack in these lifts is a genius design. The story I heard was that a group of designers set about producing a hydraulic motorcycle lifting bench, all was going well with the price until the hydraulics were added at which point the price got silly. It was then stated how come the hydraulic are so expensive when you can by a hydraulic car jack for £15. At that off the wall moment the hydraulic system was done with a compact self contained £15 unit. I feel they are fit for purpose.

But thats a starting price and he may well have a higher reserve on it, probably has judging by the tone of the advert!

defo looks home made, I know a skilled metalworker who made his own up too, its not that difficult if u have access to the equipment.I also have seen them I think in machine mart for around £300.
I would love one for sure.

I think that you can't use this contraption for anything.

The reason is that every car jack I've ever used and own all have a lable stating that they are for lifting the vehicle to a safe height to insert permenant jacks only and the vehicle should not be worked on whilst supported only by the trolley jack.

Unless this lift has some way of fixing it in position after it is raised by the trolley jack I wouldn't want to use it.

If you look at the photos then you'll see it does have a locking mechanism.

Don't understand why people are getting so childish about this, if you're not interested then just laugh/tut at it & move on, why bother plaguing the guy with silly questions? Are your lives really so sad & empty?

OK, it looks a bit rusty, but from the pics that's just superficial, underneath it seems solid enough, it's a high starting price but I doubt you'll get a hydraulic bench any cheaper, think my Machine Mart one cost me ~ £300 about 10 years back.
