Insurance...
« on: 09 October 2012, 05:32:20 pm »
just thought I'd have a quick look at how much it would cost to insure a thou' if I upgrade a year after having my licence with 1 years no claims! (i was a bit bored...)

MDirect represent good value I feel...

Its an absolute joke where these calculations come from, how is that good value when the bike was only worth a notional £2.5k?!!

I'm sure they could knock a few unnecessary things off and get you down to a bargain £20,000 if you sweet talk them enough  :lol

I did mine through go compare and compare the market.. Swinton bikes was 560ish to insure my 600 fzs.. I thought 360 was quite good being I'm only 23 with no years claims

All insurance went up last year caused by so many of these no win/no fee claims, my insurance always used to bounce around the £100 a year mark, but suddenly crept up to about £150 this year.  :(
A 50% increase in one year is a bloody disgrace in my opinion!  :rolleyes

The cheapest was £400 fully comp, which isn't bad for a year down the line with 1 years no claims. But £27k is ridiculous!

they might as well say 'no quote'!!

My fzs600 is £500 3rd party, I'm 27, but its parked outside in a pretty rough area, it will drop to £200 when we move in a couple of months.

The joy of robbing ba****d insurers!

Too damn right! One of the main reasons mine has dropped is that its gone from being parked outside in an ok area, to being locked in a garage in a safe area ^^

Its crazy how much it fluctuates. I'd argue that where it is is safer than a garage, Its anchored in my back garden behind a 6 foot locked solid fence and I have to lift the back end of the bike into the space that is only just wide enough for the bike.

But alas, insurers don't care!

Oh well, it will be nice to get out of Armley in leeds!
