Yamaha saves on pistons
« on: 03 October 2012, 08:42:48 pm »
I had a Street Triple for a couple of years and loved the 675cc 3 cylinder engine.

Wonder if that will be a 750 triple, could be interesting.

I passed my test on a Yamaha XS750 triple so it wont be a first for Yamaha. Lovely sound to it.

Nice looking machine too.
Talking of exhaust notes, I saw one of those Steve Mcqueen Triumphs yesterday. Yes, it looks nice in the flesh but as it pulled away it made me laugh, the exhaust note is indistingushable from a 1970s Honda Superdream! Not an unpleasant burble, but definately Superdream.

Saw this triple-news on FB. Looks very interesting and it'll be competition for Triumph. Everyone likes triples, so it should be a good move.

how odd...the japs now are copying the brits !

mind you they did this in 1960. the brits were complacent , and the whole Uk bike industry foundered...

But if we get a triple cylinder fazer .... wow, it could be great......I also have suggested many times to triumph they come up with a half faired speed triple to take on the fazer / streetbike cum tourer role. The Tiger was a GS clone, the ST a vfr clone...Triumph should now  try to make a proper " fazer " ! The " new" Tiger sport might be something along these lines.??

They could make a new FZS660 triple Fazer, the would be freaking amazing and if they did it correct I would trade in my FZ1 for one
