3 days lay in a ditch

I heard on the radio today that they found a biker who had gone off the road 3 days ago and landed in a ditch, broken ribs and bones,suffering hyperthermia, still alive,lucky bugger,,Yorkshire i think,

I saw this, too. Can't work out how he spent three days down there before anyone noticed him...

If I'd had to spent 3 days in agony in a ditch I'd frankly prefer Robert Mugabe looking over me than that sort of god.
 
 It will be intersting to hear how he actually survived, he wouldn't have starved in that time but dehydration would have been an issue especially because he obviously couldn't move, maybe he licked dew off the grass or sucked the damp mud at the bottom of the ditch. Or maybe he was severely dehydrated anyway and his rescuers where just in time.

I've been down that road many times, it's mainly long straights with a few bends and bridges.
The road is much higher than the fields, so if you leave the road and go into a ditch you will be out of sight to the cars passing at 60mph +.
I'm not one for carrying a mobile everywhere but do try to always have it with me when out on the bike just for this reason.
seem to recall someone laying injured for much longer than this man, might have been on a motorway.
