When I was leaving for my holiday on the 3rd I stopped off at the Portsmouth store and picked up a pair of Alpinestar SP8 gloves which, with the 20% off, cost just less than the cheapest price I could find online including shipping, but I got them there and then, rather than having to wait for delivery (which would have been too late).

I've called into our local branch but not found anything cheap enough to tempt me, especially as you will not be able to return anything once they have closed should ther be any problems.
Andy :)

Nice pair of Alpinestar Jet Road GTX gloves this afternoon, 90 quid down from 130.

Feels a bit like grave robbing though  :(

Time to get in quick.  Just been on the phone to them, they have now been bought out and are in the process of closing some shops down (my local has gone :'( )

Sale is running for a few more days, with everything between 50 and 70% off.  Just got myself a nice set of panniers  :)

Stuff is getting thin on the ground, so if like me you know exactly what you want, call the customer services 0800 165 165 and ask them which stores have the stuff you want, then phone direct and get the stuff posted out.

Good luck

Got a new pair of gloves from the Peterborough store at 50% off and called in at a branch in South London with a guy from work and they were doing batteries at 70% off.  So I've got a spare battery now (as my alarm flattens the battery and they don't like being constantly discharged).......

The UK operation has been bought out by the German parent company & according to a member of staff, they're going to be closed to the public tomorrow for restocking & will then  re-open on Saturday (well those stores that are being kept open) when it'll be back to business as usual.

they were shut ion Newcastle today, and there's a big to rent sign on the building.

Hope you're right though Pat, I always liked it as a shop, and the service I had in NCL was always great (I know others have had differing experiences elsewhere!)

I'd reckon its the volume of sales they do, as there are no other  options in Glasgow for kit that isn't a main dealer. Or I've not found them yet.

quell surprise it sbeen bought....no doubt for a song...all the debts go down with the Uk company ...now they start afresh. The usual tale....

In spite of their name....it aint good for the creditors.Bet they wont be so keen to do anything for the new company ....but good news for the few employees who remain, and maybe us as consumers.
