That's Canadians.  I was over there a few weeks ago and you get crossroads with a Stop sign at each entry so no route has automatic right of way.  Everybody stops and waits, then whoever arrived at the junction first goes, then all the others wait while the person who arrived next goes, and so on.  They just sit there and wait their turn.  I can't think of another country where it wouldn't end up with a big pileup in the middle!

Try Vietnam. The junctions in Hanoi and Saigon have to be experienced to be believed, it looks dangerous (check out the link) but it's actually a lot of fun and people just ride around in this melee for the hell of it. Crashes are very rare because the Vietnamese have super finally honed anticipation skills, quite incredible.
