Insurance Renewal
« on: 18 June 2012, 08:36:59 pm »
Just renewed with Motorcycle Direct...not heard of them before but under-cut Hastings by about £20 and with only a total excess of £50 (£200 less than Hastings) it seems a good deal. There was some bad comment about Hastings earlier this year so have had a change.
I guess you only find how good they really are if you need to claim?

I went with motorcycle direct, and have just started a claim as i was knocked off last week.
So far so good. i had a replacement bike 1250 bandit in 2 days and then a top box was brought out and fitted a few days later.
my bike was picked up for assesment when the bandit arrived and the repair amount has just been sent to his insurance for review. all in under a week. the other side to do with claiming for leathers and helmet etc looks like it will take a LOT longer though as the soliciter they supplied dont seem to know thier arse from thier elbow.
but still early days so will see how it go's

Ah, well that sounds ok so far.
Can't complain too much at a premium a touch under £100 and £50 total xs, including business use.

Am with Aviva, they've been generally quite competitive.

Made a claim from works insurance (also Aviva), claim was settled within 3 days, and the bike assessed within 10 days, and the bike ready not long after that.

Had a good experiance with JMI.

The last bike was insured by Bennetts, had an accident last year (October) and it's draggin on with no sign of a resolution...
