i know the 25mm jack up thing has been done to death, but is there any benefit to buying a more expensive kit or is the cheap one just as good? ta.

This guy goes by the name of banditrob on eBay.
I've had a fender extenda and 25mm jack up kit off him for my Gen1 1000. Top service and quality.
You can go direct to him here http://www.cjaccessories.co.uk/product.php?productid=16211&cat=320&page=1 where he does 25mm and 45mm kits for the FZS600.
HIGHLY recommended.

Forgot to mention I'd also produced a thread when I fitted mine.
Different bike but you may find it useful/interesting or neither......
